BEST CELEBRITY MAKEUP LOOKS...

Want a new makeup look, or do you just need a little extra help to look your best? Take a lesson from these leading ladies who always look fabulous thanks to makeup that is appropriate for their age, hair color, and skin tone. I caught up with internationally renowned cosmetics guru, Paula Begoun, to get her celebrity inspired beauty tips…

Blake Lively, 23

Blake Lively is young enough to experiment with makeup looks, which she does… in a tasteful way. She stays away from the heavy, overly black eye design that many celebrities her age rely on to stand out. Instead, she sticks with eye shadows in neutral colours or a flattering shade of golden peach to bring out her blue eyes. She's not afraid to change up her lip colour, and she knows how to maintain colour balance. Blake gets an A+ for her ability to transform from an effortless daytime look with softer shades to a classically elegant look, red lipstick and all.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41

Zeta-Jones is obviously blessed with natural beauty, and she knows how to make the most of it. Her makeup look throughout the years hasn't changed much, and there's a good reason for that - it's gorgeous, and you're always looking at her, not at her makeup! She strikes a great balance between natural and dramatic. She's never without a lipstick that complements her skin tone, and she plays up her lashes while perfectly framing her eyes with expertly groomed brows. For the red carpet, Zeta-Jones glams it up with a beautiful, smoky eye, taking her look to maximum glamour.

Julianne Moore, 50

Julianne Moore lets her stunning red hair and porcelain skin take center stage, while her makeup plays a supporting role. She strategically uses makeup to subtly accentuate her eyes, lips and cheekbones, whether she's using tones of coral, nude or mauve. Julianne has used sunscreen faithfully since her mid-twenties, and it shows in her glowing, radiant complexion. Redheads (whether natural or dyed), take note: This is how to do soft, defining makeup that doesn't compete with your attention-getting hair color!

GET THE LOOK:€14.67) to keep your skin radiant and protected like Julianne's, and accentuate your cheekbones with Sonia Kashuk's Beautifying Blush (€ 5.99) in Melon or Lily for a subtle, healthy glow.

Helen Mirren, 65

Helen Mirren still knows how to turn heads at the age of 65. Her makeup (and age-appropriate hairstyle) plays up the features that keep her looking radiant without coming across as though she's trying too hard. Helen uses blush on her cheeks to add a vibrant, healthy glow, and she keeps her eye makeup design minimal, but elegant, with the focus on eyeliner rather than lots of eyeshadow. She knows how to vamp things up with classic red lipstick and strategic shine on Oscar night, but she also plays around with other flattering lip colours for everyday wear.

GET THE LOOK:Use Paula's Choice Sheer Cream Lipstick SPF 15 (€7.95) in conjunction with Paula's Choice Long-Lasting Anti-Feather Lipliner (€5.57) to help keep your lipstick from traveling into lines around the mouth. Imitate Helen's age-appropriate look by using Physicians Formula's Eye Definer Felt-Tip Eye Marker.
