HOW TO WEAR: JUMPSUITS

For decades, the jumpsuit has been favoured by pilots, prisoners, skydivers, rally drivers, Bond girls, and lest we forget, the king himself - Elvis. Viewed by many as a silly, trendy garment that will go out of fashion as fast as it came into it, jumpsuits have probably been laughed at more often than they've been praised – which is a shame because they are so easy to wear.

While the all-in-one doesn't look particularly appealing dangling on a hanger, they do look astonishingly good on. Whether you prefer loose or tailored, there really is one to suit every size and taste. If you're tall, wear yours nipped in at the waist with a long flared trouser and you'll nail that 70s retro look. Or if you're a curvy girl, how about a short and sporty knee-length number, which will work with a block heel or flats? Want to slim your hips? Go for a halter style or a statement necklace to draw the eye upwards.

This time around, they aren't very structured. They drape the leg nicely and come in a short, to a mid-calf, to a full wide pant leg, which gives a woman a lot of options. The fabrics also are very soft and fluid .But here are four things you need to make the jumpsuit work.

First, a statement belt like this season's fashion favorite, the obi belt. Next, a towering pair of heels or platforms, particularly peep toes or gladiators, which look great with this trend. Depending on the shape of the neckline, add a bold piece of statement jewellery such as a long chunky necklace and complement this with matching bangles. Finally, for a glamorous evening look, wear with a tailored jacket and a stylish clutch.
